Artists! Don't get scammed!
How to detect a scammer? Here are five ways to tell if you have received a scam message:
Requesting something you don’t offer:
Scammers often send messages requesting services or products that you don’t provide. If the message asks for something that is unrelated to your business or what you offer, it’s a red flag.
Naming their own price:
Be cautious if the message includes a fixed price or fee without any prior negotiation or discussion. Scammers may use this tactic to pressure you into a quick decision.
Unusual payment methods:
If the message suggests alternative or unusual payment methods that you don’t typically accept, it could be a scam. Scammers may try to divert you from secure payment options to make it harder to trace the transaction.
Odd requests:
Beware of requests that seem odd or unusual, such as being asked to draw someone’s pet or child. Scammers may use strange requests to engage you and potentially extract personal information or money.
Suspicious social media profile:
Check the sender’s social media profile. Scammers often use fake or newly created accounts. If their profile is relatively new and lacks consistent activity, like photos posted within the same month or day, it could be a sign of a fraudulent account.
